Hi, I’m Kate. I started teaching in 2008 and have experience in teaching in both special needs and mainstream settings. I started at Purple Oaks in 2019 as Lower Phase Lead and am currently Middle Phase lead. As well as this I am also the teacher for Pine Class and I lead on Science and Computing for the whole academy.  

I am excited to be leading on Science and Computing as I believe that Science underpins our understanding of everything around us. To give our students opportunities to experiment and find out things for themselves is the best way of helping them understand the way the world works at all ages.  

In addition, Technology is an integral part of everyday life in the modern world. Understanding how to use computers does not only open up the world to students but can also give them access to ways of developing their communication, emotional regulation and independence.
