We appreciate that some students find the concept of homework very challenging and they do not wish to complete academy work at home, we do not intend to apply ‘consequences’ for homework not being completed but instead wish to foster a positive approach to learning and a desire to learn more about our topics at home. We will celebrate any homework completed and returned to the academy – this could be a photo or video emailed in for practical activities.
Alongside this we will continue to send home reading books and encourage regular reading at home. Please do note any reading you complete with your child in their Home-Academy book. Depending on the academic ability of your child we will send home spellings and times tables to practice also.
If you require any support around homework please speak to your child’s class teacher in the first instance. A curriculum newsletter is shared with home at the start of each term and this includes homework activities.
